Symptoms And Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder - 1953 Words

Bipolar disorder (BP) is a debilitating mental illness that is found in 2% of the population and that onsets in late adolescence and early adulthood (Fabbri et al., 2014). The causes and treatment of BP are not known however there are many biological and cognitive theories (Myers, 2013). The types of treatment include various medications and types of therapy such as cognitive behavior therapy (Abrams, 2004). The very important question that needs to be asked is whether cognitive behavior therapy is a more effective treatment for bipolar disorder than multiple types of medications. Bipolar disorder is characterized by the polar shift in mood from mania to depression in a set amount of time which can range from hours to months (Fabbri et†¦show more content†¦CBT is used to prevent relapse along with improving the entire course of the disease for the patients (Myers, 2013). The aim of CBT is to alter the way a person thinks as well as acts (Myers, 2013). A great way to go about CBT is to retrain a person’s negative thoughts into realistic and attainable goals such as completion of homework without becoming upset (Myers, 2013). The point of a therapy session is to teach the patient how to go about daily life and how to retrain your thinking along the way (Myers, 2013). For example, a person with bipolar disorder could be in a manic state struggling with keeping their composure. With CBT they could try to make a conscious effort to slow down their thinking and to take everything one step at a time (Myers, 2013). Even though it is difficult to retra in a brain to do this, it is extremely efficient because they are allowing themselves to change the course of their BP without the use of medications that wouldn’t allow the same in depth understanding (Myers, 2013). People often refer to BP as being a chemical imbalance in the brain which is true (Abrams, 2004). However, in order to treat the mania along with the depression using medications or CBT it is important to understand what causes the depressive and manic states (Abrams, 2004). When a person has depression many molecules in the brain are not bound to receptors which are normally activated by reuptake into the presynaptic nerve fibers (Abrams, 2004). Instead,

There Are People Out There In The Workforce That Believe They Are Obli Essay Example For Students

There Are People Out There In The Workforce That Believe They Are Obli Essay gated to do their best at their job simply because that is what is expected from all of us as humans. On the other hand there are those out there that want to only do as much as they can get away with doing. No matter which one of these employees you are or are working with companies and employers need to understand the concept of motivation. Motivation comes in many forms such as money, benefits, or simple recognition within. Motivation also leads to higher productivity and profit and that is what we are all looking for in business. The key to unlocking peak performance from your work force is the concept of human motivation. And the key to motivation revolves around one fundamental principle: Whats in it for me? (WIIFM). Weve all been socialized to believe that only selfish people consider Whats in store for me. When in reality all people are motivated first by self-interest. The word selfish is used as a negative label for someones perceived behavior. Understanding the concept of self-interest is perhaps the only way we will understand our need to achieve. Self-interest or feeling good about your self is a fundamental ingredient of motivation. When you work an extra hour, not on the clock, you are doing it for one real reason. It makes you feel good to either get the job done well or to help someone else. In the end you might get some sort of recognition in the company but usually you will not stay an hour extra today to get a gold star in two weeks from now. We will write a custom essay on There Are People Out There In The Workforce That Believe They Are Obli specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Dr. Gerald Kushel, author and professor emeritus, has stated in his book Reaching the Peak Performance Zone, there are several variables involved in motivation. Among them are intensity, durability, context and value (reward). Motivation intensity has a big part in how hard someone will work for his or her reward. If an employer offers a reward that does not mean a lot to the employee then they will not work for it. Intensity has to do with how strongly the person wants the reward (Opportunities in Human Resource Management Careers, Traynor and McKenzie). A person can be highly motivated, mildly motivated or only slightly motivated. The person answers the question Whats in it for me? with Something I want very much, the performer is considered highly motivated. If the answer is I can take it or leave it, that performer is considered only slightly motivated. Durability has to do with how long lasting the motivation is (duration) (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). Motivation tends to last longer when it is reinforced intermittently rather the consistently. Some how, intermittent rewards are stronger. A person can come to expect the reward rather than see it as a treat, which it is supposed to be. Psychologists have believed this for years. Perhaps it has to do with the uncertainty or the surprise factor of the stimulus. We tend to take for granted and not appreciate the thing that has become routine. There is a certain excitement factor and something we cannot take for granted or assume. We have learned that the intensity and duration of a given motivator are enhanced if the reward is immediately given following the act of behavior (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). This immediate reinforcement leaves no confusion in the mind of the performer, as to what the reward is for. For example if you tell an employee If you finish this stack of paper work and type this letter for me I will treat you to lunch. If you choose to tell this person I owe you one. and do not give them their reward until the following week they might have already forgotten what it was for. In turn when you ask for another favor and promise a reward your employee will be less motivated to do it. What might ordinarily be perceived as a reward to one person it might be a punishment to another. You must custom fit a reward system to your employees and jobs to get the ultimate performance from you reward system. Furthermore, the more value the recipient of the reward places on the completion of the behavior that is being rewarded, the more powerful and personally rewarding it is. Context is the time, the place and the way the reward is delivered (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). Context is partly a matter of the culture of a particular organization. What that mans is, when a certain motivator is offered in a particular corporation, it may not have the same value it has when it is offered in another place. For example, an employee of the month parking space may be a meaningful reward in some companies, meaningless in some companies, or even a demotivator for some people in other companies. It all depends on what is perceived as valued by the corporate culture. To be demotivated means that neither the energy nor the commitments are there. Negative reinforcement often proves to be highly demotivating. In one form or another, these have been used in business settings for a long time. Negative reinforcers include such things as taking names, kicking butt, penalties, reprimands, docking or withholding pay, canceling vacations, removing privileges, and showing contempt for or ignoring the performer. Demotivation is worse then no motivation at all. .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .postImageUrl , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:hover , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:visited , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:active { border:0!important; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:active , .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4 .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u8a3d00a82a62e5fccaaa5191806839b4:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Kyphosis: Prevention And Correction EssayPositive reinforcement works better. Positive reinforcers include such things as recognition, respect, praise, better working conditions, money, paid vacations, fringe benefits, prizes, etc. There are two types of motivators, intrinsic and extrinsic (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). The word motivation often brings things to mind like money, or special privileges, like the key to the executive washroom. These are extrinsic, meaning external. Someone else is dangling this particular item in front of you as a way of getting you to do something. Intrinsic motivators are internal. They originate entirely from within you. Intrinsic motivation tends to be deeper and more powerful than extrinsic motivation. The effects tend to last longer too, with intrinsic motivation. The following motivations are usually intrinsic:?Enjoyment of the work itself for its own sake?Desire to have a piece of the action, such as sharing visions, missions, leadership, authority and responsibility?Pride in performing excellently?Proving some secret point to oneself?Achievement of deep-seated value (such as helping another person)?Having a deep and abiding belief in the importance of the work one is doing?Desire to exceed ones previous level of job performance (being self-competitive)A self-responsible performer can find a sufficient reason to excel if there is a WIIFM or two to strike the proper sensitive nerve. Some of the following WIIFMs are likely to motivate your probable peak performers:? Trusting and being trusted? A mutual mission? Continuous quality improvement? Benchmarking progress? A mutual, measurable objective? A quality work life balanced with a home life? More money? Psychic incomeHere is how 1,000 employees, in a survey, ranked their needs in the workplace in order of preference (). 1. Interesting work2. Full appreciation for work done3. Feeling in on things4. Job security5. Good wages6. Promotions and growth opportunities7. Good working conditions8. Personal loyalty to workers9. Tactful disciplining10. Sympathetic help with personal problemsIn another survey by Dr. Gerald Graham, Wichita State University, the top five motivating techniques reported by employees in order of preference are ():1. Personal thanks2. Written thanks3. Promotion for performance4. Public praise5. Morale-building meetingsMotivation is not always a reason to instill rewards in your company. Sometimes as an employer you need to address problems that you already have rather than just trying to avoid future ones. One of the biggest problems for employers is absenteeism. On any given day 10% of employees are absent from work for more reasons than sickness (www.employer-employee.com). There are four ways to combat this problem:1. Change management style2. Change working conditions3. Provide in centives4. Develop an attendance policyWe are all aware of that when employees call in ill, it does not mean they are truly too physically ill to work. One reason, outside of illness, that employees are absent is stress (www.employer-employee.com). The number one reason employees are stressed has to do with their relationship with their manager or supervisor. Management styles that are authoritarian tend to promote high levels of absenteeism among employees. Authoritarian managers are managers who have poor listening skills, set unreachable goals, have poor communication skills, and are inflexible (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). In other words, they yell too much, blame others for problem and make others feel that it must be their way or the highway. By identifying managers who use an authoritarian style, and by providing them with management training, you will be taking a positive step not only toward reducing absenteeism, but also reducing turnover, job burn out, and employee health problems such as backaches and headaches. Not only does relationship stress occur between the employee and manager, but it also exists between employees. Frequently I hear employees say they did not go to work because they are fearful of or angry with another employee. These employees usually report they just could not deal with a certain person today, so they called in ill. Companies that adopted policies and values that promote employee respect and professionalism, and promote an internal conflict resolution procedure, are companies that reduce employee stress. A reduction in employee stress reduces employee absenteeism. An incentive provides an employee with a boost to their motivation to avoid unnecessary absenteeism. It simply helps the employee decide to go to work instead of sitting home watching non-intellectual television programs such as Jerry Springer. Some companies allow employees to cash in their unused sick days at the end of a quarter. Others give an employee two hours of bonus pay for every month of perfect attendance or unused sick days. And still others provide employees with a buffet lunch, a certificate of achievement, or even a chance at winning prizes. The type of incentive program your company uses should be created for your company. As I said before, incentives and rewards can be unimportant or punishments to some while they are incentives to work harder and rewards to others. For example my employees might not care about getting an extra $20 at the end of the month but might respond greatly to getting a weekend off the next month or getting free lunch for perfect attendance. T he duration of the incentive program is also very important to it working well. Once again, your employees should help you set a time frame hat is reasonable. Since I work for a beach club and it is only open for three months a year I would work on a two-week program or even a weekly program if I were using something like a free lunch. Generally the younger the employee and the harder the work the more the incentive should be given. Another idea is to start small and work up to larger rewards, ex: free lunch can progress to a weekend off. This would start with the weekly reward and finally the big reward would come at the end of the month. This would work well because I have young employees (ages 14 to 20). .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .postImageUrl , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:hover , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:visited , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:active { border:0!important; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:active , .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u293c157a9406d4b8b14808df6450324a:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Beyond Budgeting Debate Criticisms Of Budget Accounting EssayAn attendance policy allows a manager, like myself, to intervene with an employee who is frequently absent. . According to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), employees are allowed up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). This is because stress is not the only reason for absenteeism. Besides stress as a primary reason for employee absenteeism, other causes relate to alcoholism, domestic violence, family problems, and sometimes laziness (like in my case). If you confront an employee about his or her frequent absenteeism, and they inform you it is due to personal problems, consider referring them to an Employee Assistance Program, EAP (www.employer-employee.com). If the employees absenteeism relates to a medical problem or a family member with a medical problem you may have to consider allowing the employee to use the benefits allowed to them under the Americans with Disability Act, ADA, or the Family and Medical Leave Act, FMLA (Managing Human Resources, Sherman, Bohlander, Snell). Make sure you check that your employee policy does not break any federal laws before you enforce it. Reducing absenteeism will reduce employee burnout, turnover, poor morale, and workplace negativism. Here is a little information about the FMLA. It can be used for the care of a newborn after birth, or adoption. It is for any immediate family member such as a spouse, child, or parent. It is also for your own serious health concerns. Serious health problems include cancer, or fatal disease. It does not include the common cold, headaches, or a stomach bug. Not everyone is covered by FMLA. To be considered an eligible employee you must have 1,250 hours or 12 months in a company and your employer must employ 50 people within 75 miles of the worksite. If you do take the allowed 12 weeks or less, your employer, when you return, must uphold a few standards. They must allow you to return to the same position or one of equal status, and they must maintain your benefits. Your employer also must not decrease your pay or benefits at the conclusion of 12 weeks. We all know what it means to be deprived of time. The way it is today, everything you do has to be done in a New York minute. An added stress people have to worry about is not having time to do the little day-to-day things such as doctors appointments and the dry cleaning (). Another way a company can motivate employees and keep stress down is to come up with solutions to their workers problems. When I saw this information I thought a little about some ways to help solve these problems. For doctors visits, try to find a doctor to do on the site checkups where anyone in the office can schedule an appointment. For the dry cleaning, find a service near by that will pick up and deliver from the office. What about grocery shopping? What would it be like to call in an order ready for pickup when you get off of work? There are also on-line services that you can buy your groceries from and have them delivered to your house. How about a stress relieving massage or facial and pedicure? You can offer to have a weekly visit from a masseuse and a manicurist. I have also thought that there are not always stores with these services so why not hire people for these jobs. Im sure there is an older person looking for part time work, or a mom who wants to earn a little extra money. These are the type of people for this job. Now that you have thought of ways to keep your employees in the office more and ways to keep them calm, you will have a more productive business. These are only a few dilemmas with easy solutions. You would have to find out what irks your employees to make a project like this successful. To do this you might come up with a questionnaire (see sample at the end of the paper). Not only will you know their problems, but they will also notice that you, as a manager, care about their needs. This creates a sense of worth in a company. There are all kinds of employees out there with different work ethics. This creates a problem with keeping productivity high. A way to ensure employee happiness and high profit is to reward and provide custom made incentives for your company. BibliographyWorks Cited1. Poetry Essay Writing Guide to Help You Become a Writing Guru

Poetry Essay Writing Guide to Help You Become a Writing Guru What is a Poetry Essay? Writing an essay is a challenging task for every student especially if the topic is as controversial as poetry. Analyzing any piece of art is difficult, mainly because it may be interpreted in various ways. Although, writing about poetry is even more demanding than any other type of literature. The study of poetry itself is aimed at addressing the poet’s emotions, experiences, and ideas with the help of different stylistic features and language techniques. Different poems may require distinct forms of understanding which may be a challenge. Besides, metaphors and other figures of speech are a typical view of poetry. Furthermore, while analyzing a poem, a student should keep in mind a strict structure of the essay to evaluate the piece precisely. Despite all the problems that may arise in the process, with some tips, the task will not only become understandable and much more manageable, but it will turn into pure delight. Poetry essays usually evaluate a particular piece of poetry, some theoretical aspects, or even personal attitude and ideas of the writer towards this kind of literature. Most commonly, the primary task of the writer is to provide the reader with an accurate, well-supported, and precise analysis of a particular poem. Therefore, the basic advice is to keep in mind traditional structure of the essay, pay attention to the main idea of the piece, its genre, verification, word choice, all the figures of speech, and tropes of the chosen poem, such as epithets, metaphors, alliteration, oxymoron, etc. If you face troubles when writing a poetry essay, check all the aspects of the topic subject. Thus, you need to know what a poetry essay is and how to write it accurately. Poetry essay is the piece of writing that evaluates a poem. Consequently, the primary goal is to combine the requirements of the essay format and in-depth analysis of a chosen poem successfully and professionally. Therefore, a student should follow a strict plan to make the future writing clear. Why Is It Important? Every single task given by a tutor has its particular goal. However, all the essays are aimed at expanding one’s knowledge about the topic. While writing a piece, you have to read numerous materials to find new information. In this manner, it is necessary to revise what has been learned in class, and, moreover, acquire the information that might be missed. Next, you should represent the material using your words according to the strict structure of the essay. It teaches how to deal with information, structure thoughts, and follow all the bibliography and formatting style requirements. These skills would help students in future studies when writing more serious works, such as term or research papers. Finally, any poetry essay is about combining theory and practice: the writer needs to apply theoretical knowledge of genres, tropes, rhyme, and meter to a particular poem, evaluating its content and main idea with its cultural context. Consequently, writing poetry essays will noticeably improve analytical skills and deepen your awareness about the issue. How to Choose a Topic Wisely? A brilliant and properly chosen title is one of the most crucial parts of a flawless essay. If there is an opportunity to select a topic, it may be difficult to make a choice. The point is that while one variant may be interesting to learn about the other might be much easier to discuss. Thus, it would be better to choose a familiar topic to make the process of writing more pleasant and smooth. There are few more tips. First, shorter and more contemporary poems may be less demanding to analyze than long and ancient ones. Second, you have to do a little research before submitting the chosen topic to ensure you’ve got enough materials to support the main points of the text. Finally, the writer should check if the topic is appropriate. It should not be too difficult to understand and evaluate. However, it has to give enough space to conduct research. In other words, too popular and narrow variants should be avoided. Which Topics Become a Winning Lottery? As it has already been stated, choosing a hooking essay topic plays a significant role in the whole process. On the one hand, the unsuccessful topic may fail an excellent essay while a wisely chosen one may notably improve writing. Thus, students need to pay some attention to this aspect. A proficient topic is not too short or narrow and, at the same time, it is not too long or too difficult to understand. It should be logical, include the main idea of the essay, and create space for research. Besides, it should not be challenging to discuss and find the bibliography for. One of the critical points is to grab readers’ attention. So, it should be engaging and even intriguing. The essay may evaluate a certain poem, for example, â€Å"Allusion and Reality in Sylvia Plaths â€Å"Lady Lazarus.† The topic can also refer to a certain author, â€Å"Significance of Nature in Edgar Allan Poe’s Poems.† Moreover, theoretical features or even individual ideas on the p oetry may be analyzed, â€Å"Word Choice in Futuristic Works of F. T. Marinetti,† â€Å"How Poetry Influences Modern Society† and so on. All these ideas are excellent examples of topics since they are interesting, not too wide or too narrow, and are clear about what the writer would be talking about. Which Topics Turn Your Piece into a Fiasco? Our Writers Know the Answer An unsuccessful topic may ruin your college progress. Thus, it is essential to remember several significant mistakes which student often make preparing topics for their writing. The topic should not be too long and difficult to understand or, on the contrast, too narrow and primitive. A primitive topic doesn’t enlighten the reader on the specific purpose of writing. It is necessary to remember that an essay is a short form of writing, so topics should be specific enough to be thoroughly discussed in two or three pages. Furthermore, do not concentrate on trivial and insignificant details of the poem or choose topics which require only personal attitude or ideas. ‘Why I Like Poetry’ is the worst topic on earth! It is not interesting and does not require any scientific research. Avoid topics which can be discussed in one sentence: ‘Is Howl by Allen Ginsberg a Poem?’ Of course, it is. ‘Edgar Allan Poe as a Poet’ or ‘Shakespeare’s Sonnets’ are taboos since these topics are too short and do not provide any specific information on what exactly is going to be discussed. Pre-Writing Tips to Get Ready for Some Serious Work After picking a topic, get ready to write. Read the analyzed poem several times to make sure all the details are noticed. Taking notes is also strongly recommended. Poetry is challenging to discuss, and some aspects may be controversial or have several meanings. Thus, taking notes will help to remember everything. When there are no fresh ideas, it is possible to search for the existing analyses. It would be useful to read the other poems of the chosen author or even learn some historical facts to understand the background of the piece. Sometimes one author has similar ideas that can be seen in a few written works. These little life hacks will help you to understand the given poem and identify various ideas for writing that come from one. Make an Outline to Develop a Solid Essay Framework When writing a poetry essay keep in mind its solid composition as well as when you should include this or that personal idea on the topic. These pillars of successful writing may be combined easily with the help of a strong outline. The last should not be underestimated because it is considerably useful to have a plan for the work not to miss anything. This would also help to focus on the central parts of the writing and not be distracted by the details. Therefore, effective outlines simplify the writing process and emphasize the basic structure of the essay. Guidelines for the Essay Structure Proper structure is one of the essential aspects of any successful academic work. Failing to provide a conclusion or a thesis would result in a poor score of the essay. On the contrast, the following structure would make the writing clear, flawless, and easy to perceive. Thus, every structural part of the piece has its individual goal, so be aware of the fundamental aspects of each. An essay is one of the shortest forms of academic writing, so its structure is elementary. Any essay must include: The introduction; The body paragraphs; The conclusion; The bibliography. An introduction is the first paragraph of the essay which provides the reader with the background of the discussed topic and presents the purpose of the writing. It necessarily includes a thesis statement which shows the critical idea of the essay. If you’re not sure about the effectiveness of your thesis, some additional information may be accessed here. The body is the main part of an essay. All the ideas and research aspects are discussed in this section. It may be divided into several paragraphs if the range of thoughts is presented. Each should start with the topic sentence that introduces the idea of the whole section. The writer should not forget to illustrate his/her statements with direct and indirect quotations. The conclusion is the last part of the essay. It summarizes the presented material and paraphrases the thesis statement. It is important to remember that neither conclusion nor an introduction includes quotations, which means these two parts should be written from an individual point of view. A bibliography is not a typical part of an essay. However, it is usually required to use several sources to support the presented thoughts. Thus, all the sources should be properly cited according to MLA, APA, Chicago, Harvard or another style of referencing. Searching for Reliable Sources Expressing individual thoughts is not enough when you craft an essay. Therefore, students need to add several quotations from credible sources. Looking for reliable sources may require a lot of time and even can be exhausting. Nonetheless, it is a significant thing to do. Reading various materials would noticeably broaden your knowledge of a particular topic and help to see the existing problems from another perspective. Keep in mind that not all the sources found on the Internet are reliable. Be careful when using info from online forums, blogs, Wikipedia pages, and articles from magazines since the materials they provide aren’t necessarily scientifically approved. Thus, credible sources may be easily found on https://scholar.google.com. Reliable sources typically provide the reader with the basic information like the topic for the research, the author’s name, and the publication info. Here’s a quick tip: reliable sources always provide references to the other r esearches. Meet the Post-Writing Tips After finishing an essay, a few more steps need to be taken to get an outstanding work finally done. The written piece should be carefully revised several times. Moreover, it has to be free of plagiarism and any grammar mistakes. Students are not allowed to use informal language or slang in an essay as well. Finally, the writer must carefully reread his/her masterpiece to answer these questions: Is it properly structured? Are the ideas logical and precise? Did the writer define or explain all the terms or the other specific language? Did the writer provide all the ideas with proper examples or quotes? Did the writer cite all the information which is not initially personal? Does the essay contain a clear thesis statement? Is the topic appropriate? Does the writing responds to the topic and discuss it thoroughly? Is an essay written in a precise and formal academic style? Is writing free from any grammar mistakes? If all the answers are â€Å"yes,† an eager student will succeed with a challenging task and submit an excellent poetry essay on time.

Brief History of the US Federal Income Tax

Brief History of the US Federal Income Tax Money raised through income tax is used to pay for the programs, benefits, and services provided by the US government for the benefit of the people. Essential services such as national defense, food safety inspections, and federal benefit programs including Social Security and Medicare could not exist without the money raised by the federal income tax. While the federal income tax did not become permanent until 1913, taxes, in some form, have been a part of American history since our earliest days as a nation. Evolution of Income Tax in America While taxes paid by American colonists to Great Britain were one of the main reasons for the Declaration of Independence and ultimately the Revolutionary War, Americas Founding Fathers knew that our young country would need taxes for essential items such as roads and especially defense. Providing the framework for taxation, they included procedures for the enactment of tax law legislation in the Constitution. Under Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution, all bills dealing with revenue and taxation must originate in the House of Representatives. Otherwise, they follow the same legislative process as other bills. Before the Constitution   Before final ratification of the Constitution in 1788, the federal government lacked the direct power to raise revenue. Under the Articles of Confederation, money to pay the national debt was paid by the states in proportions to their wealth and at their discretion. One of the goals of the Constitutional Convention was to ensure that the federal government had the power to levy taxes. Since Ratification of the Constitution Even after the ratification of the Constitution, most federal government revenues were generated through tariffs taxes on imported products and excise taxes taxes on the sale or use of specific products or transactions. Excise taxes were considered regressive taxes because people with lower incomes had to pay a higher percentage of their income than did people with higher incomes. The most recognized federal excise taxes still in existence today include those added to the sales of motor fuels, tobacco, and alcohol. There are also excise taxes on activities, such as gambling, tanning or the use of highways by commercial trucks. As true with the modern income tax, those early taxes were far from popular among the people. But with the spirit of the American Revolution and independence still running high, some of the people took their dislike of taxes to far higher level. Between 1786 and 1799, three organized rebellions- all protesting various taxes- challenged the authority of the state and federal governments to generate needed revenue. Shays Rebellion from 1786 to 1787 was raised by a group of farmers in objection to what they considered the unfair methods used by state and local tax collectors. The Whiskey Rebellion of 1794 in western Pennsylvania came in protest to what President George Washingtons Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton wrongly considered an innocuous excise tax â€Å"upon spirits distilled within the United States, and for appropriating the same.† Finally, Fries’ Rebellion of 1799 was led by a group of Pennsylvania Dutch farmers opposed to a new federal government tax on houses, land, and slaves. While the farmers owned lots of land and houses, they were far from keen on paying taxes on slaves none of  them owned. Early Income Taxes Came and Went During the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, the government realized that tariffs and excise taxes alone could not generate enough revenue to both run the government and conduct the war against the Confederacy. In 1862, Congress established a limited income tax only on people who made more than $600 but abolished it in 1872 in favor of higher excise taxes on tobacco and alcohol. Congress re-established an income tax in 1894, only to have the Supreme Court declare it unconstitutional in 1895. 16th Amendment Forward In 1913, with the costs of  Ã‚  World War I looming, ratification of the 16th Amendment permanently established the income tax. The 16th  Amendment states: â€Å"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.† The 16th Amendment gave Congress the power to tax the incomes of all individuals and the profits of all businesses. The income tax enables the federal government to maintain the military, construct roads and bridges, enforce the laws and federal regulations, and carry out other duties and programs.   By 1918, government revenue generated from the income tax exceeded $1 billion for the first time and topped $5 billion by 1920. The introduction of the mandatory withholding tax on employee wages in 1943 increased tax revenue to almost $45 billion by 1945. In 2010, the IRS collected nearly $1.2 trillion through income tax on individuals and another $226 billion from corporations. The Role of Congress in Taxation According to the US Treasury Department, the goal of Congress in enacting tax-related legislation is to balance the need to raise revenue, the desire to be fair to taxpayers, and the desire to influence the way taxpayers save and spend their money.

Summarize the argument of Lilian Furst, Romananticism,pp.1-6. What is PowerPoint Presentation

Summarize the argument of Lilian Furst, Romananticism,pp.1-6. What is meant by the distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic uses of the term romantic - PowerPoint Presentation Example as many-faceted, and, incidentally, as long-lived as Romanticism had to manifest itself in any number of directions, and it is fundamentally this that confounds the task of definition.†(p.6) Jacques Barzun: â€Å"Unfortunately, definitions of romanticism already exist by the dozen and have remained without effect. One reason is that definition is not enough. We must also have a clear conception of the many proper uses to which a comprehensive term of this sort can be put.†(p.3) Intrinsic romanticism is as old as humanity. It will never disappear, for it is a human constant. Human beings live in the era of materialistic civilization. Man is bent upon conquering nature and believes that he has to wage a permanent war with it. Camaraderie has given place to mutual suspicion and cutthroat competition. This is the reality. Realism is critical, but romanticism can as well be the new vision, the future hope for ushering a benevolent era. â€Å"Modern man does not experience himself as a part of nature but as an outside force destined to dominate and conquer it.†(Schumacher, p.11) He feels elated to announce and conduct a battle with the nature in an effort to improve the standard of living of human beings without applying proper thought. He is cutting the branch of the tree on which he is sitting. We live in a society that has drastically narrowed our sensitivity to moral and spiritual issues; the problem we face is how to deal with a belief structure that has blocked both psychological and spiritual development. If there is a new agenda, a new vision now emerging within our society, how might one help put it into practice? It left deep impact in every area, politics of the time, aspirations of the people and in some countries it became the voice of the revolution. It impacted and transformed fiction, drama, poetry, sculpture, paining and all forms of concert music and ballet. Shakespeare is one of the greatest writers in the field of romanticism. Six feet project 2 Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Six feet project 2 - Assignment Example The disputes aren’t explained as indication that they could be minor. She only highlights natural urban calamities such as noise and insecurity, as the possible reasons of the immigration; â€Å"we have no burglar bars, no guns† (1320). By the virtue that Nadine does not mention any permit requirements for this migration, the whites are represented as having a bit of freedom. The blacks are the victims of oppression and are highly maltreated. Petrus’ family is displayed as generally poor, he works in a farm, his brother; the illegal immigrant is unemployed and his father feels better off by inheriting an old suit. Moreover, unlike the whites, they ought to acquire a permit to move, regardless of the reason behind. The author uses the white farmer’s humility to her workers to portray the authority’s callousness. Lerice, takes care of his workers children (1320), she presses her husband to impress Petrus despite having illegally accommodated his brother (1324); hence making him look stupid in the eyes of the soldiers. The conclusion does not show any fairness, since Petrus, lost his money, does not his body back but at least his father gets a white man’s suit portraying some equality. Apartheid is a cruel system that puts blacks in an oppressed position, both the kind whites and the blacks are aware of this but the authority has to maintain the system to protect the minority whites. Charter, the narrator is no different from other whites, thinking that he has better management but views the blacks as poor and non-human. He despises their effort and unity to retrieve their brother’s dead body: upon receiving the  £20 contribution he says â€Å"I took it in irritation†¦, useless sacrifice by people so poor† Effects of racism killed Petrus’ brother. After death, the Apartheid system does not sympathize with the family. His body is buried without family involvement and later the authorities play fraud; take the

The associated energy change involved Essay Example for Free

The associated energy change involved Essay For example, by combusting an alcohol with seven carbon atoms in the same apparatus, it would produce 1500 kJ per mole. We can also use the graph to devise a formula so that we can easily calculate the energy released in an alcohol with, say a thousand carbon atoms. The formula for any straight line is y = mx + c [m is the gradient and c is the y-axis intercept]. Therefore the formula would be y = x + 0 [where y is the energy released and x is the number of carbon atoms in the alcohol]. The above will only calculate approximate values as the formula was devised form the graph which can cause inaccuracies. For example, an alcohol with 15 carbon atoms would produce the following amount of energy with this apparatus: y = x = 15 =3214. 29 kJ/mol to 2 d. p. Hence, using the same method, we can devise a formula with the predicted accurate values. It would be: y = 1217x + 910 The above is accurate and will calculate exactly the amount of energy produced. For example, an alcohol with 15 carbon atoms will produce exactly this amount of energy. The two formulas are able to support my explanation that energy transfer is not 100 per cent efficient and that a lot of energy is always lost. GCSE Chemistry Coursework Investigation into energy changes in the combustion of alcohols Evaluation The procedure of the experiment did not allow us to obtain highly accurate results because a lot of energy was still lost to the environment, though a draft excluder was used, heat was lost through the top of the apparatus. Hence this explains why our actual results are smaller than the predicted ones because energy is lost and so not all of it is taken into account. The procedures qualitative errors were a major problem, hence the large difference between the two results, though they show the same trend. The results are fairly accurate to what was actually measured, they differ with the predicted results due to the main qualitative error which was heat loss. Otherwise they are fairly accurate results to what was actually transferred to the water and the can. Also we did not calculate the heat transferred to the can accurately because we assumed its temperature rise was also 20i C, which is the same as the water. This is wrong because heat is not all transferred to the water and instead to the environment, and hence the temperature of the can is actually higher than 20i C, and also explains why the actual results were smaller than the predicted. We were only measuring temperature with a thermometer to the nearest degree, this is highly inaccurate because any small error made in these measurements are magnified because we are manipulating the results to get what we want, i. e. the energy transferred. Therefore this reduced the accuracy of the results. The anomalous results that were below the line of best fit showed that the energy released was too small, this was because of extra heat loss than expected and was caused by us blowing onto the can or water to cool it and also not fully closing the draught excluder. The anomalous results that were above the line of best fit show that the energy released was too high and was due to uneven stirring of the water and so some areas of the water were hotter than the others. It was also due to the fact that the tip of the flame was too near to the bottom of the can, i. e.height x is too small, and so it was an unfair test and less heat was lost than expected. The procedure was highly inaccurate due to the apparatus used, which caused too much heat to be lost. The apparatus was not in sealed conditions and so a lot of heat was lost to the air around it, between the flame and the can causing convection currents. If the flame was too near the bottom of the can it would mean less heat loss but also incomplete combustion and so the energy transferred would be different than expected and the carbon that forms on the bottom of the can causes inefficient heat transfer. If the flame was too far form the can then there would be a lot of heat loss and so affecting the accuracy of the results. The draught excluder proved to be of limited use as heat rises and so heat was not kept in from above where most heat energy is lost. The measurements were also not accurate enough as the results would have to manipulated. It is for these reasons that the procedure is not suitable enough to enable us to produce highly accurate results of which would be very similar to the predicted. But we must appreciate the fact that there is never a 100 per cent energy conversion and that energy is always lost. An improve procedure, would involve the use of a thermocouple to replace this calorimeter. The thermocouple reduces heat loss greatly as it is able to create a sealed environment and so nearly all the energy released in the combustion of the alcohol is accounted for. The water is also circulated and so is heated evenly. But the calorimeter could be improved by heating the water by a larger temperature, such as 60i C. This means that the inaccuracy of the thermometer would be spread over a larger temperature and so the error factor is smaller. We could also use a digital thermometer instead which measure to 2 decimal places which would be efficient and accurate. We could also heat a larger amount of water for the same reason. The entire apparatus could be put into a sealed environment such as a large jar with vent holes at the bottom and a small hole the top for stirring the water. The oxygen needed for the reaction would be sucked into the jar through the holes at the bottom and so the heat produce would be trapped in the environment and could be measured. A more detailed trend with the results could be obtained by continuing the experiment with alcohols that had larger molecules, i. e. more carbon atoms. Also the experiment would be repeated more than twice to allow us to identify and eliminate the results even further. The evidence is reliable in showing the sort of trend that would be produced. The anomalous results were also very small and still show the trend clearly and so the results are accurate. The difference in the actual result and the predicted results can also be fully accounted for. The actual results are also more realistic in terms of energy transfer as it takes into account the energy loss. The obtained evidence is sufficient to support a firm conclusion that as the molecular size of the alcohol increases so does the amount of energy released. This is because the results show this trend very clearly and are similar to the predicted results. The anomalies are also not far from the line of best fit and so support the trend making them reliable. Even though the actual results differ from those that were predicted, it can be explained by the fact that energy is lost to the environment. Further work for this investigation would include testing to see the rate at which energy is produced; how long it takes for each alcohol to heat the water by a certain amount. My prediction would be that the alcohols with the larger molecules would take less time because they have more bonds and so more energy is released in a certain amount of time, and so it would heat the water faster. Additional evidence for the conclusion could also be obtained by continuing the experiment with more alcohols with more carbons and so allowing us to gain a more detailed trend in the relationship. Also by replacing the calorimeter with a thermocouple would allow us to see a more accurate trend and find other factors apart from heat loss that may cause anomalous results. Famous American Womens Song for the Blues Essay -- Jackie Kennedy Bes

Song for the Blues The "blues" is a form of music that tells of human suffering. As the saying goes, "You gotta pay the dues if you wanna sing the blues." In no other way than persevering the suffering of abandonment, separation, divorce, infidelity, loss, alcoholism, and prejudice could Jackie Kennedy, Bessie Smith, and Mahalia Jackson have inspired the powerful empathy of a nation. "We rejoice in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." This biblical scripture personifies the lives of Jack8ie Kennedy, Bessie Smith, and Mahalia Jackson. Through their own personal suffering, each of these women's lives "became all human sorrow." Their suffering and perseverance became the words for a nation's "song for the blues." For instance, Jackie Kennedy's "song for the blues" started early in her childhood, with the divorce of her parents. She continued the suffering when she was forced to spend her childhood divided between her parents in New York City and Long Island. She was compelled to totally exclude her father from her life when her mother remarried and moved Jackie and her younger sister to Washington, D.C. Jackie's "song for the blues" began with the separation and divorce of her parents, but even as a young child she persevered and was hopeful for the future. Jackie was optimistic as she entered womanhood. She graduated from George Washington University and accepted a job with a local newspaper as an "inquiring photographer." She began dating the handsome and aspiring Senator John F. Kennedy. Although their romance progressed slowly, they finally married in 1953. This was a time of happiness, of being in love, and of planning for the f... ...s. Mahalia persevered by becoming an activist in the Civil Rights Movement. A driving force in her life was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. because he believed, as she did, that nonviolence was the means of eliminating racial tension. She sang songs such as "Amazing Grace' to give hope to all people to persevere. In conclusion, Jackie Kennedy, Bessie Smith, and Mahalia Jackson are all quite different in that the lived at different times in American history and hailed from diverse backgrounds. Despite their differences, they each suffered and persevered. They played the hand that life dealt them, and through their suffering and perseverance they developed character and hope that should be a lesson to all mankind. These three American women each had their own "song for the blues;" they each sang a different song, none of which should be forgotten by our nation. How Hybrid Cars Work Essay

A hybrid car is a passenger vehicle that is driven by a hybrid engine, which is any engine that combines two or more sources of power, generally gasoline and electricity. There are two types of gasoline-electric hybrid cars; the parallel hybrid, and the series hybrid. Both use gasoline-electric hybrid technology, but in radically different ways. In a parallel hybrid car, a gasoline engine and an electric motor work together to move the car forward, while in a series hybrid, the gasoline engine either directly powers an electric motor that powers the vehicle, or charges batteries that will power the motor. Both types of hybrids also use a process called regenerative braking to store the kinetic energy generated by brake use in the batteries, which will in turn power the electric motor. Both parallel and series hybrids have small gasoline engines, and produce much less pollution than standard gasoline cars, but also produce much less power – hybrids generally produce between 60-90 horsepower, while the average gasoline engine probably produces about double that. To overcome this power gap, hybrid cars are constructed with ultra lightweight materials like carbon fiber or aluminum. Hybrid cars are also designed to be more aerodynamic than most cars, allowing them to â€Å"slice† through air instead of pushing it out of the way. All these factors combined equate to a super efficient form of car that gets excellent fuel economy and helps the environment by cutting down on pollution. To compare hybrid car emissions levels with those of popular automobiles, see emissions. If you are interested with the hybrid solution to pollution, see pollution. If you are interested in buying a hybrid car, see our article, why buy a hybrid. http://www.hybrid-car.org/hybrid-cars-work.html How Do Hybrid Cars Work By: Steven Magill Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on linkedinShare on google_plusone_share The new hybrid cars offer the best of both worlds. They provide the power of gas and the cost effectiveness of electric cars. These cars are the highlighted display of what technology from different areas can create when put together into one vehicle. Hybrid cars take some time to understand the functioning process. Start by gaining an understanding for how an engine in a hybrid car works. Function starts by utilizing windings moved by an electromagnetic force. This force occurs when an electric current passes over the motor. When the polarity of the current runs one way, the motor turns one way. As the polarity changes course so does the direction of the motor current. This is different from a traditional gas engine. Here the pistons push the gasoline through the crank which in turn provides power for the wheels to move. This process repeats over and over until the vehicle moves. As the gas pedal is pushed down, gas flows into the system and increases the power of the wheels and pistons. Hybrid cars make use of both the traditional engine and the electric engine. The two forces come together to create a revolutionary car power. As the car begins to move, a computer sensor determines which engine type is more suitable for use at that given moment. In cases of high power, the gas engine is utilized. Likewise, when power levels can be low, the electric engine is utilized. On the electric side of things, as the car comes to a stop, the battery regenerates by conserving energy. As the power drains out of the electric battery, the gas engine takes over until the point that the electric battery can be recharged. It can be hard to determine the difference then between gasoline cars and hybrid cars. When a gasoline car is idle, the gas still runs. When a hybrid car is idle, the motor switches from gas to electric. As the car comes to a stop, the energy is absorbed back into the electrical portion of the battery. The only real drawback to a hybrid car is the weight. In addition to the engine weight there are add-ons that are needed to help the electric engine run smoothly. Outside of this factor, the two engines co-exist smoother than ever in a hybrid car. The end result is a worthwhile vehicle that is environmentally friendly and economical at the same time. There are variations on hybrid car models. A selection of vehicles comes equipped with charge coils that allow California users to replenish electrical battery supply. Others utilize alternative fuel sources such as fuel cells. Despite the setting of the car, an owner can rest assured that it is needed to keep the hybrid running in peak performance condition. Each manufacturer tweaks the basic function process of a hybrid. This is what sets each hybrid apart from each other. Regardless of the individual tweaks the basic premise of a hybrid is the same. Create a car that is cost efficient and environmentally friendly so drivers can do their part to help save the environment.

OMG. † â€Å"I'm sorry Ashley but I couldn't understand that, what did you say? † I was making sense in my mind but to other people I was mumbling and stumbling. The nurse had me sit down and try to explain things to her, while I waited on the ambulance to get there. â€Å"Ashley, what did you take? â€Å"l took†¦. I would doze off and the nurse would shake me and yell†¦ â€Å"Ashley, stay with me and explain to me what happened,† she said â€Å"l took two Asana†¦. † And I would doze off again and the same thing would happen. As I'm dozing off I see black walls that have surrounded me, and I feel as if I have been asleep for a while, when really it had only been a couple seconds. The whole time the nurse tried to get what happened out of me. As I'm waiting for the ambulance, I felt as if I had been waiting for hours. I don't know how long I had really been waiting, but it sure did feel like forever. Finally, the ambulance had arrived.I was put on the stretcher, strapped on, and wheeled out. As I'm being wheeled out the paramedic is trying to talk to me to keep me awake, it works until we get to the front door of the school (which is not very far from the nurses office. ) I do remember that as I'm being taken out that there are all these students gathered around trying to see what Is going on. Looking back I think how embarrassing. The next part that I remember I woke up to being hooked up to monitors, EKE pads all over, an IV In my arm, and I had to have a tube shoved down my nose. I was forced to drink something until I woke up Just puking nonstop. The worst part was I had nothing in my stomach to puke up besides that black, thick liquid I had drank earlier. What I was throwing up was pretty much tar like. After that phase passed I fell asleep again. The next time I woke up my dad was sitting across the way in front of me. He was sitting there with his hands on his head, as his head was down. I didn't even have to see the look on his face to tell that he was worried. Once he realized that I was awake I saw a look of relief and disappointment. The rest of what happened in the hospital is blur, so to mom to a conclusion I had overdosed. What I had taken was not real sure. I had blood test done in the hospital, but they are not real sure what exactly I had taken. From the description that I had given and my symp toms they said it could have been morphine, but that is not one hundred percent sure due to it wasn't found in my blood test. I paved some heavy consequences for my actions that day, even though the drugs were not taken on school ground, my episode happened on school ground. I was suspended for seven days, and I had to give the name of the person who I had received the pills from.Of course the person who I received them from was not happy, so I took harassment from her and her family for quite a while. My dad was pretty upset with the choice that I had made, and he felt that I should be punished/embarrassed. So after I was released from the hospital I went home, I ate something, and I started to change into some pajamas when my dad said â€Å"Oh no, we've got softball practice tonight and you're going! † I looked at him like he was crazy. I could barely function with all the â€Å"morphine† in my system. When I get to practice of course my dad has to tell my whole stor y to everyone. My coach takes me aside and wants to have a heart to heart conversation. I don't remember everything that he said, but I do remember a few things. â€Å"Ashley, high school is a very important matter and it is very easy to get mixed in with the wrong crowd. If you want to make something out of yourself you have to graduate high school, and you have to graduate with good grades and a good GAP, so don't let the wrong crowd ruin your future because you want impress a couple of friends you'll only have for maybe a year or two. † I thought about what my coach said and I started to think, â€Å"What do I want to do with my future?I want to be a Nurse Practitioner. After that I started to look into colleges, I had to take into consideration a lot of things. Like the things a college looks for in a student. Good consistent grades, a high GAP, attendance, whether or not you were a good student. At that point I was not on the right path to accomplish my future goal, and from that point on I changed my life in school. I got serious, I started going to class, I was there on time, I studied for test, and I always did my homework and always turned it in on time. All of my hard work finally paved because I did graduate in May of 2013.I may not have graduated with highest honors, perfect attendance, or valedictorian, but I came close to a 4. 0 GAP, and I graduated early. After high school, I went on to college to study medical assisting. I started out in college the right way, I did not fool around at all. When all said in done I graduated in November 2013, this time I did make a difference. I graduated with perfect attendance, highest honors, and valedictorian. My hard work paved off, I am now a medical assistant at the Indianapolis VA Hospital, and I plan on moving up in the medical field and making a difference.

Quotes and Discussion on Walde essays

Quotes and Discussion on Walde essays "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." It would be wonderful to have time to live alone and contemplate life and learn what living deliberately could teach. Personally, however, I would feel, upon my death, that I missed out on many experiences by simply living alone and in the same way for a lifetime. I would like to see the world and meet many people. A person can only discover so much about himself/herself before he/she wishes to discover things about other people. "Our life is frittered away by detail." This is very true in today's society. People worry about every aspect of their lives, instead of enjoying what is right in front of them. Some things, though, should be looked at carefully and savored, like nature and "I think that there are very few important communications made through [mail]." I disagree with this statement. Important communications are made through mail. If Thoreau had to mail this piece of literature, I'm sure he would have found it very important. What is not important to one man, may mean the world to another "Let us spend one day as deliberately as Nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito's wing that falls on the rails." The media often makes too large a deal of many matters. People do not need to be informed of all that goes on in the world. Unfortunately, not everyone can just leave their lives behind and live by and pond for over two years. I, for instance, cannot do this because the law does not allow me to stop going to school, even if it is to find myself in nature. "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." This statement produces wonderful images of all the things on the gr ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Case Studies Psychology Essay

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Case Studies Psychology Essay Qualitative approach Research methods are commonly divided into quantitative and qualitative research methods (Some researchers (Lee, 1991; Ragin, 1987) have suggested to combine these methods by triangulation). Qualitative research methods are designed to help researchers understand people and the social and cultural contexts within which they live. Kaplan and Maxwell (1994) argue that the goal of understanding a phenomenon from the point of view of the participants and its particular social and institutional context is largely lost when textual data are quantified. The strengths of qualitative research derive primarily from its inductive approach, its focus on specific situations or people, and its emphasis on words rather than numbers (Maxwell, 1996, p.17). A key difference between quantitative and qualitative research is that quantitative researchers work with a few (quantifiable) variables and many cases, whereas qualitative researchers rely on a few cases and many (primarily q ualitative) variables (Ragin, 1987). In this research a qualitative research approach is chosen for the following reasons. First, the nature of the research questions suggests a qualitative approach. They are as understanding of what are the factors that enable or inhibit people to share their knowledge. Second, the aim is to present a detailed understanding of the dynamics of sharing knowledge, requiring a focus on participants’ perspectives and their meaning. Third, knowledge-sharing individuals are studied in their natural setting. Knowledge sharing is a situated process, so removing participants from their organizational context would lead to findings that are out of context. And these contexts which determine the factors that enable o inhibit knowledge sharing process. The characteristics of qualitative methods are listed in Table 1 Characteristics 1, 2, 4 and 7 highlight the emphasis of qualitative data on providing richness of understanding of phenomenon in context (Du ncan, 1979; Yin, 1989). Quantitative methods â€Å"à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦by themselves may ignore much of the process phenomenon associated with a particular research question so that a real understanding of what’s happened may not exist† (Duncan, 1979, p.424). The use of qualitative data collection and analysis methods increases the likelihood that the advantages of case study method can be obtained. Table 1 Characteristics of qualitative methods 1. Qualitative research is inductive. 2. Researchers look at settings and subjects holistically. 3. The researchers are sensitive to their effects on subjects. 4. Researchers try to understand subjects from their own perspective. 5. Researchers try to set aside their own beliefs, perspectives and predispositions. 6. Researchers try to see all different perspectives of subjects as valuable. 7. Qualitative methods are humanistic. 8. Researchers emphasis validity as prime research criteria 9. Researcher sees all settings and subjects a s worthy of study. 10. Qualitative research is a craft. Source: This characteristics adapted from Taylor and Bogdan (1984, p.5-8). Interpretive research All research is based on some assumptions with respect to methodology the most pertinent philosophical assumptions are those that relate to the underlying epistemology guiding this research. And it refers to the assumptions about knowledge and how it can be obtained. Different classifications of epistemological assumptions exist (Guba and Lincoln, 1994). For explaining the underlying paradigm of this research, the three epistemological stands distinguished by Myers are used: positivist, interpretive and critical. Positivism claims that social life should be understood and analysed in the same way that scientists study the ‘natural world’. Positivists generally assume that reality is objectively given and can be described by measurable properties independent of the observer and of one’s instruments. Positivist stu dies generally attempt to test theory, in an attempt to increase the predictive understanding of phenomena. On the other hand the interpretive stand base is hermeneutics and phenomenology. Interpretive researchers start out with the assumption that access to reality (given or socially constructed) is only through social constructions such as language, consciousness and shared meanings. They generally attempt to understand phenomena through the meanings that people assign to them. Interpretive research does not predefine dependent and independent variables, but focuses on the full complexity of human sense making as the situation emerges.

Romans 12 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Romans 12 - Essay Example This is a powerful appeal. We receive from the Lord every day the fruits of his mercy. It is acceptable to God a reasonable service, which we are able and ready to give the reason for, and which we understand. Conversion and sanctification are the renewing of the mind; a change, not of the substance, but of the qualities of the soul. The progress of sanctification, dying to sin more and more, and living to righteousness more and more, is the carrying on this renewing work, till it is perfected in glory. The great enemy to this renewal is, conformity to this world. Take heed of forming plans for happiness, as though it lay in the things of this world, which soon pass away. Paul encourages us not to fall in with the customs of those who walk in the lusts of the flesh, and mind earthly things. But work with the Holy Ghost first begins in the understanding, and carried on to the will, affections, and conversation, there is a change of the whole man into the likeness of God, in knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness. That is to be godly, is to give up ourselves to God. Roman 12:3-8 explain how pride is a sin in us by nature; we need to be careful with it and armed against it. All the saints make up one body in Christ, who is the Head of the body, and the common Centre of their unity. In the spiritual body, some are fitted for and called to one sort of work and others for another sort of work. We are to do all the good we can, one to another, and for the common benefit. If we duly thought about the powers we have, and how far we fail properly to improve them, it would humble us. But as we must not be proud of our talents, so we must take heed lest, under a pretense of humility and self-denial, we are slothful in laying out ourselves for the good of others. We must not say, I am nothing, therefore I will sit still, and do nothing; but, I am nothing in myself, and therefore I will lay out

Sunni-Shia Split Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Sunni-Shia Split - Essay Example The U.S. should have supported the Shia Islam more than the Sunni Islam. This is because Sunni Arabs were more associated with Muslim extremists and the Al-Qa’Ida who considered outside powers as enemies and promoted values that were no in tune with world peace5. Al-Qa’Ida promotes monotheism and is against anyone who believes in polytheism6. It declares war on any individual who does not follow the Muslim religion. AQI viewed Shia as individuals who have rejected Islam and declared war on them7. Therefore, it is evident that Al-Qa’Ida should be stopped as they are against individualism and freedom. The U.S should lend help to individuals who are intent on driving AQI out as seen in the case of Amariyah whose new boss rebelled against AQI8. The Baath party was favored the Sunnis and ensured they took up positions of wealth and power9. The Shia Arabs are seen to be oppressed from several angles and would be the ones who would call for help as they do not promote values going against human right and freedom. The reign of Baath party saw that that the Shia did not enjoy higher living standards, prestigious education and jobs as the Sunni10. Sly, L. (2007). Marketing Essays E-Business Marketing

Marketing Essays E-Business Marketing E-Business Marketing E-business marketing is the conduction of transaction (commercial) by using the telecommunication systems. The widespread use of the internet has increased the competency of the companies to conduct their business more accurately at a high speed and with huge coverage at a minimized cost. Apart from this, it has helped in providing customized services to the target market. As a result, innumerable companies have created web sites in order to provide information and promote their services and products. E-business plays an important role in building their sales by getting an access over the people across the world (Kotler, 2002). E-marketing strategy In order to formulate an effective E-marketing strategy, it should be aligned fully with the organization’s overall business objectives. The main purpose of an e-Marketing Strategy is to generate a long term competitive advantage and focus on enhancing the performance by capitalizing on resources of enterprise and technology. Building of effective strategy requires thorough research, intense planning, experience, analysis, and deep information about the online industry. The Strategy for e-Marketing is based on the principle of offline marketing i.e. 4 Ps: Product – Price – Promotion –place, and Added 3 Ps like People – Processes – physical evidence. The uniqueness in e-Marketing lies due to its seven main features such as: Personalization, confidentiality, better Service to the Customer, Community, digital media, Sales Promotion and Security (Krishnamurthy Singh, 2005). 1. Personalization: It means identifying and recognizing the needs of the customer in accordance with trends in the market. 2. Privacy or confidentiality: in e-Marketing, this indicates that the gathered information is safe and is used in apt manner from collection to the storage of data. Privacy plays a significant role as many legal aspects are associated with the use of such information. 3. Better Customer Service: e-Marketing focuses on building the relational viewpoint and in this transactional system; Customer Service plays an important role. 4. Community: as the number of members increases, it leads to the formation of the community. Therefore, developing the community is the key role to be played in the e-marketing 5. Site or digital media: It is the location where the interaction takes place. The digital technology helps in making it accessible at any moment and place. 6. Security: as the transaction begins on the internet channels, security function plays a vital role. The security system should prevent the unauthorized access of a third party over the transaction. Therefore, it is important for the e-marketing business to develop confidence in the customers regarding the safety of the transactions. 7. Sales Promotion: in building the e-marketing, sales promotion plays a vital role, as it helps in achieving sales growth in terms of volume. Here the marketer is supposed to apply his innovation. And he is also required to use the advanced internet technologies and promotional plan (Krishnamurthy Singh, 2005). Marketing tool and technique If identified properly, marketing tools help in guarantying long term success for the organization. Review of the right target audience must be done at the initial stage. For B2C, the end user forms target audience. Therefore, proper attention must be given to identify the needs of end user. On the other hand, for B2B, the customer serves as the distributor and as a result, the marketing of this business becomes quite difficult. In B2C and B2B, customer identification and creative internet site that can attract the right customers are essential. B2C: Business-to-Consumer websites are the mediator portal between the consumers and the suppliers. They help the businesses in connecting with their customers and in keeping their loyalty. Some of the major portals of B2C website are eBay (an auction site), ZDNet (a technology market place) and Yell (an internet version of yellow pages) that exists on the internet. The eight common features of business-to-consumer website are Sophisticated session control User log-in Shopping Basket system Anywhere, anytime information More convenient and faster shopping Privacy and Security of customer information Internet Company with marketing focuses on meeting the direct needs of end customer. The internet site fulfills the needs of customer and make successful sale. The web site finds numerous ways to attract the attention of the customer. For example: Amazon.com and Dell Inc. provide very good examples of a B2C intelligent e-business success story. The benefits provided to the customers by Dell Inc. include: access to the information anywhere at anytime and a proper co-ordination and communication. It also provides its customers with the benefit of self-help service and support. It provides the opportunity of forming a partnership with a leading e-commerce player along with detailed information about the products, solutions and services (Cao, Zhang Seydel 2005). B2B: In this, the business provides several products and through the receiving business, it meets the need of the end customer. The approach followed in this business is customer-based marketing. Therefore, they focus in designing the products and services according to the demands of the customers. Initially, they market their products to the distributors and develop way for entering the market in selected products and also create the sales environment for the products so that it can easily meet the needs of the target customers. By making the use of the B2B, the portal of the company can forward the incoming business to specific pages so as to have improved order techniques, inventory control and customer needs for example: e STEEL. Therefore, the marketing tool plays a vital role in the B2B and B2C (Ramaswamy Namakumari, 2007). Difference between the B2C website and B2B website Different strategies are used in the business-to-business environment. It uses routes like: advertisement in the form of pop up, e-mail and banner advertising in business. B2B and B2C can be differentiated on the basis of the following points: Objective: E-mail in B2B business is concerned with the production of lead; on the other hand in B2C, it refers to the transaction of the sale. In B2C, after consumer reach to the landing page, the next step is the evolution to the shopping cart and checkout page, where as in the B2B, e-mail marketing campaign itself acts as a source of marketing. Permission: In B2B transaction, permission involves a guarantee that the shared information will be kept confidential and as a result, the lead will be generated in more numbers where as in B2C, dealings demand receiving permit in a dissimilar way. Here an enterprise will insure the customers that they have the power to cop out of farther e-mails (Weil, 2002). Challenge in Copyrighting: In B2B, an e-mail must have the eye catching phrase on the subject of e-mail. Where as, in B2C the WIIFM acts as an important factor. The customers need to know that there is something relevant for them. B2C transactions are easy to maintain as compared to the B2B (Weil, 2002). Conclusion Broad use of internet has led to the development of B2C and B2B. In these businesses, deep understanding of the customer is required. The use of latest technology and the proper understanding will allow huge success. Both these e- businesses have provided the customers with the convenient options. A customer can easily gain the information of the product online and can also close the sale online. In order to make e-business successful, proper E-marketing strategy should be formulated and implemented and according to the target market, the marketing tools should be used. Legalize Pot :: essays research papers

The Decriminalization of Cannabis   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Cannabis Sativa, the illegal strain of hemp known as marijuana, provides numerous benefits that greatly outweigh the harmful effects of the drug. The perceivable physical and social problems of excessive use of marijuana are severe, yet unproven. These problems are easily related to those posed by excessive alcohol consumption on a regular basis. There are a variety of advantages of the legalization of marijuana that can be categorized as medical, social, and economical improvements. Although the harmful side effects such as brain damage caused by the use of marijuana have not been proven, as the only government licensed testing for this effect was unmercifully biased, the advantages of the drug in a medical context have been repeatedly proven. Marijuana is known to slow the influences of diseases including AIDS, glaucoma, epilepsy, certain forms of cancer, and many more fatal and incurable ailments. Currently, approximately 150,000 citizens of Ontario alone suffer from diseases that marijuana would help to lessen, but due to the stringency of federal and provincial laws only 50 of these people are granted exemption. The war on drugs endangers us all. Police react towards the age groups who are commonly rumoured to use these drugs severely. The sad fact is that crime is induced by the actions of law officials. People are forced to very dangerously smuggle marijuana in and out of the country. Sales of the drug have seeped into every tiny crevice of our communities. This could be stopped almost instantly with the licensing of sales in stores and specialized cafà ©s. Also, it is rumoured that marijuana is a gateway drug to harder, more dangerous substances like cocaine and heroin. The reasoning behind this is that a large portion of hard drug users smoked marijuana before advancing to harder drugs. The flaw in this reasoning is that the majority of marijuana users have never before used hard drugs. The nation's economy would undoubtedly be one of the largest beneficiaries of the legalization of marijuana. By adding steep tariffs on import, export, and sales of marijuana, Canada’s revenue would be increased greatly, adding money that could go towards lowering taxes, lowering the national debt, and increasing healthcare and national security. The prices of marijuana, despite the high taxes, would be significantly lowered due to the decrease of danger from prosecution. The current street prices of marijuana range from $150 to $250 per ounce of low-grade bud.

Early Warning Systems Essay

There is a connection between delivery of service, employee training and the employees’ behavior. The research paper undertakes to find out the early warning systems used by low enforcement agencies to identify a problem police officer and to reduce citizen complains. This is a crucial research question for all law enforcement agencies and members of the public especially those in proximity to law enforcers. Background of the Research. Most law enforcement agencies do not take the public complains as an indication of needs to identify a problem police officer among them.. It may a source for need to change tact of doing things, change method or systems of identifying problem officers in the force. Early indicators for a problem officer vary from one force to another depending the nature of their work. Reporting to duty has become one of single most important indicator of a problem police officer in law enforcement agencies today. Other systems have been proposed and are in use in various agencies in various countries. If you look at our people today the majority of them have no confidence in law enforcers not because of any peculiar reasons but due to the ignoring the problem officers of the enforcers. In world today, the government has introduced a governing paper as relates to systems of identifying of problem officers. Statement of the Problem I chose to work on this question because it directly affects the performance of duties by police officers, reduces public confidence of law enforcers as well law enforcers’ confident public relations, performance and their future ambitions and targets. If a law enforcer is not performing his duties very well and his colleagues note that they may be demotivated to perform their duties while other will absent themselves from their places of work, others will get excuses of not coming to work. Therefore police officers are required to constructively work as per the required as per the rules and regulations.. This will set good goals that he is going to achieve in his lifetime. When there are early warning systems implemented it will be easier for the police officers’ to improve their performance and the level of service to the public will be highly improved. The performance level of a law enforcer can be perfect if he/she engages in on regular professional development. There is a relationship between an officer’s performance level and implemented problem identification is correlated . When an officer knows that there are systems that will identify problems among themselves they will work hard and improve their performance as well as learn new things, new concepts, gets challenges, encounters obstacles, learns how to solve his own problems, learns to be independent and all this challenges will enable the performance improve. Though these challenges an officer will be competent and learn more on his own. Objectives of the Research The answers to this question will enhance my professional knowledge and competence in many ways. As a professional I will learn early identification systems implemented by other law enforcers in identifying problem police officer and ensuring that problems are solve before they get out of hand.. I will use what I have learned from this research to advise my enforcement agency on ways to identify a problem police officer and how to go around solving the problem. I will encourage my colleagues to learn, be creative, hardworking, independent and know how to solve problems on there own without superiors interference. The answers to this question also will assist me as a professional by motivating me to ensure that my performance and that of subordinates is improved. I will be regularly counterchecking whether the subordinates have performed their duties properly, perfectly and to the required standards. If officers have not done their duties properly they will be given close check to determine problem solving techniques to use in each case. Literature Review Act Utilitarianism: Utilitarianism states that the morality of an incident is determined by its outcome. The consequence is the main element here and it should lead to ultimate pleasure according to the theory. Thus this theory depicts that the morally correct action is that whose consequence creates ultimate happiness. Act Utilitarianism is a utilitarian theory of ethics which depicts that morally right action is that which is able to produce greatest amount of happiness to greatest number of people through its consequences. This theory does not connect to general rule; instead it demands evaluation of the circumstances by the agent (Act Utilitarianism nod. ). The objection to this theory states that it is too much permissive and can justify any crime if presented with valuable consequences. Another objection is that the theory has less practical use than its theoretical depiction as most of the time we do not get enough time to predict consequences and assess the values of them. In the case given the dilemma of using deception can be resolved absolutely if thought according to Act Utilitarianism Theory. This theory says that morality of an action is determined by its consequences. In the current scenario the consequence of the child being safe can surely determine the morality of using deception. But if it is found that Sylvester is not guilty then the consequences will not be able to justify the act of using deception. Rule Utilitarianism: It is also known as Restricted or Indirect Utilitarianism. This theory deals with the correctness of the rules. It states that moral actions are that which conform to the rules leading to greatest good. The correctness of the rule is determined by the amount of good it could generate. Another variation of the theory is that practicing some rule in all instances always generate good results overall than practicing any exception. Act Utilitarianism, as opposed to Rule Utilitarianism, stresses the consequence of the action without any reference about the rule followed. The objection against this theory says that it depicts following of such rules which will surely not produce best results. Another objection is that it may depict such rules, which are best to follow, but it is clear that none will do so. It is also very difficult sometimes to differentiate this theory from Act Utilitarianism (Rule Utilitarianism n. d. ). In the present context it is clearly not possible to predict the consequences of use of deception. Thus the theory requires following the general rule of non deception to reach the consequence but it leads to the objection that following this rule may not generate the desired result. Immanuel Kant’s Theory In his theory Kant depicted that there are two aspects of reality, one as we observe it to be and the other as it really is irrespective of any conceptual framework of the observer. He also told that human being observe the world through conceptual framework and not only by the inputs from the world. He argued that causality is not something we observe in nature but it is something we insist ourselves. According to him human beings are of free will and become subject of causality when through other’s experience. Kant stated that the reasoning of human beings dictate them to perform certain actions, i. e. , human beings are guided by their rationality. One is behaving rationally when s/he is consistent. The inconsistency takes place when one’s will guides a thing to happen and not to happen. The person then needs to articulate the principle whether the action has any negative implication on the principle itself. Kant’s rationality thus believes in setting examples for others whether they should follow the principle or not. Thus Kant’s rationality rules out some actions. According to Kant’s â€Å"Hypothetical Imperatives† reasons just help securing the thing which we actually wanted. But he argued the role of reasoning is not to issue â€Å"Hypothetical Imperatives† but to ensure that human beings do not act inconsistently. According to his thought about â€Å"Duty† one should not lie no matter how necessary it is. Kant advocated that morality is the most important aspect while judging somebody’s action. The â€Å"Golden Rule of Kant† advises to act on that maxim which leads to universal law (Kant’s Theory of Ethics n. d. ). According to Kant’ Theory human beings should act rationally in such a way that the action is consistent to universal law. But using deception can not be consistent to universal law. Again he stated that one should not lie no matter what the reason is. But deception is nothing but lying. Role of reasoning is not to help to find ways according to will but to guide towards consistency. Thus the main principle of Kant’s Theory completely applies to the dilemma here about whether to lie or not and whether to act in such a way which does not support the universal law. Methodology There are two methods of research/ data collection in research papers: that is quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative method is applicable where the problem is known, the problem is based on theories and can be measured in numbers. The analysis can be done on tables, graphs, pie charts, gnat charts and other statistical theories and it relies on assumptions. There are a number of methods which are under quantitative methods. These include surveys, experiments and quasi experiment. Qualitative method is different from quantitative because it is used to measure human feelings, attitudes and perceptions. In this research question both methods will be used. This is because most data will be collected from students who will go on homework fitness and other available research work carried out from somewhere else on the topic. The problem of this research question is how and which direction the research problem will take. There is always a connection between the research from the research question and the methods or the collection tools used, since it influences the conclusions and the recommendations. Qualitative method will be used to collect the student’s opinions, attitudes, perceptions and feelings on the homework fitness. Interviews will be carried out as well as observation will be done. Quantitative method will be used in collecting actual facts in numerical at the same time; analysis of the data will be done in the form of tables, graphs and other statistical tools. The data for this research has been obtained from internet sources, books and journals. These two sources of data collections have weaknesses as described below Sources of data The data that will be used in this research will be collected from: – i. Books ii. Internet i. Books: Most of the materials to be used in this report will be collected from books. Many books have been written covering issues of students. I will collect the relevant material from books that show the relationship between students engaging in fitness homework on student’s fitness level. Books will offer me with good general information that will assist me to complete this project. Most books have bibliography from the back where more information about student’s fitness home will be obtained. ii. Internet The internet is also a very good source of data. In the internet different topics have been covered. Through the internet I will collect the relevant materials that show the relationship between students engaging in fitness home on student’s fitness level. Through the internet I will be able to get the latest journals and conference papers that cover my topic in greater depths. Through the internet I will be able also to request for more materials in the form of CDs for further reference. Through the internet I will learn more from conference papers about the relationship between students engaging in fitness homework on student fitness level. For further reference I will use the internet facilities in offloading more relevant literature form digital library. Data collection tools and methods The relevant data to be used in this research will be collected in two ways namely:- i. By use of questionnaires ii. Through Interviews. Questionnaires The data that will be used in this report will be collected through questionnaires. Questionnaire involves asking various questions from the students, parents, teachers concern the question topic. This will be used to obtain important information about the relationship between students engaging in fitness homework on student’s fitness level. This research will employ two categories of questionnaires. The first category of questionnaires will be structured or close ended. Here I will offer a list of all possible alternatives from which respondent best describes the situation. They will be in form of multiple choices. A question will be asked and below it will be a list of all possible alternatives will be provided. The advantage of using questionnaires is that most people do not want to think hard, the answers are there and the respondent cannot be intimidated. Unstructured or open ended types of questionnaires will also be employed to make this research a success. These types of questions will give the respondent freedom of response and permit an individual to respond in his or her own words. Through this type of questionnaires we will be able to get more information about relationship between students engaging in fitness homework on student’s fitness level, different from or in more detailed way than what we have. These questionnaires will be researcher administered. The researcher goes with the questionnaires himself and administers the questions by himself. Interviews The data to be used in this research will also be collected through interviews. An interview is an oral administration of questionnaire or interview schedule. It will involve a face to face encounter schedule. It will also involve a face to face encounter. This interview schedules will be in two forms, structured and structured questions or semi structural questions. Responses during interviews could be recorded either by note-taking or tape recording. Expected Result a) Keeping records of attendance of police officer to identify the lateness of police officers this will assist in ensuring police officer with problem of attendant or absenteeism have been identified and rectified. . b) Good communication system. Goo communicated systems have been used to identify police officers who have problems within the force but have resorted to report. C good disciplinary procedures have been implementing to be followed when a police officer has been found with a problem. D. sexual harassment policy has been implemented by the force and reporting procedures have been written down to ensure that the police officer whose has been sexually harassed has been reported and the matters investigated. Sexually harassment police is one of the best systems that has been implemented to help reduce of the problem E. cord of conduct for the police to be followed any police officer who does not follow the cord of ethics laid down will be said to contravene the systems that have been laid down. F. racial discrimination the police force has laid down grievance procedures to be followed in case there is racial discrimination. This is a system that is related with the other system of sexual discrimination. There is also whistle blowing police that has been laid down by police officers to detect police officers who are not working in line with the police department. Conclusion-: The implemented systems by most police force or law agencies relates to the policies that has been laid down by the police force. The policies form systems to be used to identify a problem within the force. Various policies have been emulated to include racial discrimination, sexual discrimination whistle blowing and grievance procedures. Deception among police officers will amount to failure of police officer to perform his duties. References Armstrong M. 2001. A Handbook of Human Resource Management Practice, Kogan Page Limited .
